Bought second-hand for Bookcrossing.
A book which only confirmed my suspicion that people who enjoy mountain climbing are suffering from a very specific type of personality disorder. There is quite a lot of climbing jargon that I didn't really understand, but I did get the gist of what was happening. It was an OK read but probably more of interest to the sort of people who like extreme sports type stuff.

Never fancied mountain climbing as I'm scared stiff of heights! (prefer two wheels and an engine, myself) - but I've seen the film of this and was fascinated and horrified in equal measure by Joe Simpson's ordeal, not to mention hugely impressed with the way he dealt with it too. More guts than I have for sure!
