A friend of mine recommended this book to me and I knew it was based on Laura Bush's life. I could see the similarities immediately: being a librarian; killing someone in a car crash, etc. But Charlie Blackwell did not seem at all like George Bush to me. I was never a supporter of George W., but he didn't totally rub me the wrong way the way Charlie Blackwell's character did. I couldn't stand his character!!! What a childish, crass, pain-in-the-butt! I seriously don't know how similar the character is to the real life George W. Bush. I hope there's little resemblance. I don't understand what any woman would see in him.

I liked the book, but it dragged A LOT in the middle. It could have been a bit shorter, but all in all, a nice read.
