God Bless You Mr. Rosewater
3 journalers for this copy...
Picked up at Books-A-Million awhile back. Can't recall how many times I've already read this, but want to read again, then will release, so I can turn more readers on to the Greatest American Author Since Mark Twain......
Again, likie most of the earlier Vonnegut books, cannot recall how many times I've read it, but was fantastic as much of this author's stuff is..... one of the great things about re-reading was how much I notice connections to characters in other books.
will release soon.....

I had the sense that Vonnegut might not be for me, and it turns out I was right. I didn't care for the writing style and satire probably isn't really my genre. The book simply wasn't all that compelling to me, and I often put it down in favor of something else. Oh, well! At least I gave it a go. After reading this one, I probably won't seek out more Vonnegut, though.
Reserving for the General Literature VBB.
"Eliot Rosewater—drunk, volunteer fireman, and President of the fabulously rich Rosewater Foundation—is about to attempt a noble experiment with human nature . . . with a little help from writer Kilgore Trout. God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater is Kurt Vonnegut’s funniest satire, an etched-in-acid portrayal of the greed, hypocrisy, and follies of the flesh we are all heir to."
