2 journalers for this copy...
(Since I only got halfway through this book it might surprise you to know how much I actually liked it. Alot. And I haven't given up either, just happen to have two copies.)
It's written in Scottish, seemingly in the form of shortstories and takes place in Edinburgh.
And it's about, drugs. Heroin, addiction, and the addicts. At first it seems brutal and the language strains - but once you get into and start playing with the accent in your head - the feeling of accomplishment takes over.( I was so into the accent for awhile that I forgot all about the characters.)
It's quite heartbreaking really.
And funny. And realistic.
And a peek into a life most of us don't even have nighmares about.

After some hesitation I decided to take this book home from the BookCrossing meetup. I have just looked at the first pages and wondered if I will be able to understand anything at all, the trick is probably not to think too much, just read on and not think about the spelling.
