3 journalers for this copy...

From a remainder bin in a little stationer's in the Ilam shops. We stopped there to get some fish and chips for tea (no, not at the bookshop, at the fish and chip shop next door!) and I spotted a bin outside the shop with a sign saying "Books $2", so quickly pounced and managed to select a large bundle before the shopkeeper could shut the shop.

Journal Entry 2 by futurecat from Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand on Wednesday, October 27, 2004
I'd put this book straight into the releasing pile, because, judging from the cutesy cover (MrPloppy commented that it looks like they were hoping for a film deal), I didn't think it would be my kind of book at all. But then Neesy asked if I'd bring it over to Sydney for her, and curiosity got the better of me, so I had to read it :-)
Anway, it turned out to be a better book than I expected from first impressions. Not great literature, by any means, but a fun story about an angel that accidentally gets reincarnated in the body of a baby, and then sets about trying to save the world. A few parts of the book read a bit too much like a manifesto of the author's beliefs (which seem to be a mixture of christianity and "new age" spirituality), but it's not too overpowering, and the story is interesting enough to keep you reading anyway. Overall, a fun, light read.
I'll pass it on to Neesy at the BC-AUS conference.

Passed on from Futurecat at Shelbourne Hotel Friday 12 November

Just started reading this book - it's very odd...nothing like I espected...

OK I read the first three chapters and flicked through and decided it's just too bizarre for me....apologies.

Got this book from Nessy as a planned control. Looking forward to reading it although have read the other members experience with this book so a little unsure.
