This book is a SURPRISE! :)
I did a trade with this BC'er and he sent me all these books for just one wishlist book I sent him. So I decided to even it out. :D

"Caught" this in the mail today as a surprise Wishlist RABCK! Thank you!
Very cool, and well chosen. This was one of my oldest Wishlist items still outstanding. I was therefore getting close to trying to knock it off the list finally with a rare library find. So this one is timely.
2004 Regnery hardcover, with dust jacket.
Edit June 13, 2021: I admired this book. The research is solid. But some of the conclusions after the subsequent decades of catastrophic failure are premature. For example, the author makes a point of claiming that we destroyed and defeated the Taliban back then, as if it was a permanent accomplishment. Whereas today, we are literally in the process of turning that Sharia state over to the same Taliban, in a negotiated slow withdrawl, even while they continue to terrorize and slaughter Americans and allies and the general public in that Islamic wasteland of Afghanistan. We totally lost that war, because Islam is a war machine which understand the power of attrition. And reading George Bush's claims about the religion of peace are utterly cringe-inducing, in his speech transcription in the appendix. I currently have this ranked at #425 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.
