This is a non-fiction story about when Michael Connelly was a crime reporter, covering the homicide beat. This is a collection of the cases that he covered. Starting with the commission of the crime through the results of the trials. He follows the investigators, the victims, their families and friends and the killers, to tell the real stories of murder and its aftermath. The stories as fascinating as they are chilling. Some of these are stranger than fiction and every bit as griping. Very interesting to see what Connelly reported on and how some of his novels are based on these cases.
