This looked intriguing in my Sci-fi club magazine so I ordered it. It's currently TBR.

I LOVED this book. I can't beleive I put it off for so long. This book is in my top 5 for 2004..
Thursday Next is a literary detective in a paralell or alternate history of 1980's Britain. In her world, there has been a war raging on for centuries between Britain and Russia, she is a veteran, after her mandatory stint in the service she joined Spec-Op's which is like our police she is in the literary division. Which means she protects literature, which is very highly valued in Thursdays world. In fact, the world seems to revolve around literature, it is THE most important thing. Lots of other things in Thursday's world are different too, but I don't want to give it all away, so just prepare to be blown away, I can't imagine anyone who has an active imagination not loving this book. I am on to the second in the series, then the third and hopefully I can stop myself before I have to purchase the fourth in hardback at full price LOL..
Enjoy!!

I am giving this book an average rating. There were times when I was reading it that I wondered why. I found it rather slow moving and kept waiting for it "get on with it". However, as this type of book is out of my usual genre, I plugged away and finished it. Once Tuesday entered the literay works, I liked it much more.

Did enjoy several of the puns. Picked them up right away.

Truly sorry I can't rave about this book as much as others have but I have to be honest. For me it was just an okay read.
