CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

The back cover claims this book is named "One of the Best Books of the Year" by many reviewers.

Totally agree on this. In fact, I'd say it's one of the best memoirs I've read in my life.

The artist totally utilize the medium to best tell his story. The isolation, helplessness and fear of the boy is portrayed so vividly. There are few words and would have made for a fast read, yet I do not want to turn the pages. I want to just savor each panel, otherwise it feels sacrilegious to the blood and tears that have gone into its making.

Like most memorable memoirs, this is not about a happy childhood. There are many poignant moments that makes me think, how could she? What the ?? I am glad that the author survived through this.

Now it's on the way to wish someone Happy Birthday!!
