This book was among the generous boxes-o-books that BCer tobysrus brought me on this very hot day, as part of her downsizing/decluttering efforts. (Looks like this one escaped from the planned mass release back in 2013 - sneaky book!)

The book's a classic, but it's one that somehow never really grabbed me, even though the subject - the lives of immigrants trying to homestead on the Nebraska plains - is certainly fascinating. (There's a 1995 film adaptation - starring Neil Patrick Harris as Jimmy; maybe I should watch that...)
