In 1974, a young Frenchman secretly - and illegally - rigged a tightrope between the Twin Towers. He made eight corssings in an hour, while 100,000 people watched in the streets of New York. In "To Reach The Clouds", Petit recreates his six-and-a-half-year quest to realize his dream. Animated by numerous photographs and Petit's sketches, this text is a serenade to his beloved towers and the unfettered aspiration they expressed.

This is one of the books I took from the "Leipziger BookCrossing UnConvention 2013" to place in the "Open Shelf" at a local Supermarket. But I had a peek into the book and I think I'll read it first. Seems to be quite a story - and true one too!

I didn't write a journal entry yet?!??
Oh well. Yeah. "Crazy French" I can only say.
No, a great book. I really liked reading it. AND IT'S A TRUE STORY! Whow!
The part I liked most was: "I ordered three desserts - all for myself."
A packing Story.
My Intention was to release it at a local slackline competition, but I missed it.
That's why the book will tavel closer to the location of the story: to North America, to Toronto at first and maybe somewhat further.

Picked this up at our Bookcrossing Meetup today. Very nice to meet you, Xarodoc, and I too hope that the book will travel on after I (and my boyfriend) have read it.
