Alex Cross will surely rate up there with Sherlock Holmes, Lucas Davenport, J.P. Beaumont, et all as a great analytical character, with his own quirks and hooks in his personna that will keep you turning the pages. You will want to rush headlong to the finish but will be greatly saddened by the same, because you are hungry for MORE!
James Patterson is a great read, with wry humor, fun twists, and awesome plots out of mundane happenings. All tied together to keep you guessing.

This one will be released into the wild at the Bremerton City Hall Fountain. It will be found attached to a "spitting cat's back"! Friday night (is that an oxymoron?) @ 20:00 hours (8 P.M.)

Caught the Weasel this morning, at 0645. Looks interesting, although the "game" part of the plot seems goofy. Will journal again when I finish it.

Not impressed (sorry, nac). Seemed like pot-boiler cop thriller material to me; I won't be reading any more of Patterson's
work.

WARNING, spoilers ahead, you have been warned...

As soon as Detective Hampton came on stage, I knew she was going to be killed. I don't like being able to figure out plot twists like that (that's what I hate about movies & television, it's usually obvious). You know the good guys win in the end, but it's how they get there. The girlfriend is kidnapped and survives? Since when do kidnapping victims survive, especially murderous beggars like these. And I didn't see much psychology, either.
That is one of my complaints about the Kellerman's last several books. Finding out about Munchhausen Syndrome was fascinating. Murder, however, is merely sordid.
Also, I don't care for authors who can't get terminology right. No shooters, ex-military, or my one cop friend refer to semiautomatic pistols as "semiautomatics." Technically accurate term, but not commonly used AFAIK.
