Just bought for 50 cents at the thrift store - a beautiful trade paperback copy, almost as new, of this book which I'd love to read - especially now that I've heard so much about Guterson's latest novel. But alas I have so many bookrings coming in right now that I won't have time to read it for a while - so I'm going to start a bookring. It's a great day for it too - we had our first snowfall this season overnight here in Northern Virginia. I really enjoyed this book. It challenges you to think about the assumptions we make about people based on their backgrounds and/or ethnicity.
I also enjoyed the indepth looks into the characters.

Unfortunately this book parted from its packaging while in the hands of the USPS. I bought another copy on ebay which is finishing the journey. Here's a link to the replacement copy!

"I'm writing to let you know of a problem with this book. I had mailed Snow Falling on Cedars to Rubi-J on Jan. 15. In the mail today I received a letter from the USPS saying that my empty package was found. I am sending in a Parcel Search Request to see if they can find the book. And I have emailed Rubi-J to let her know as well."
Who knows, maybe someone will find this book and it will have an alternative journey!

I got my Parcel Search Request form back in the mail today. They didn't find it. Maybe some USPS employee will find it and enjoy it.
