Found this while spending a few minutes poking around in United Books' new tiny shop, which is actually their old tiny shop, but never mind. It looks like a fun, short read and I look forward to it. It's an Australian book, I think.

This was such a lovely read; I started and finished it today (to be fair, it was a short book, and I had a day where I was free to stay home--not that I read all day, I also did the dishes; and why am I explaining myself in my JE?)
While the subject seems like it would be rather stereotypical, I instead found it fun and fresh and imbued with a sense of caring. Also, several of the resolutions were unexpected, which was nice. Love Aunt Mill! All in all a fun, quick read and I would certainly seek out more by this author!

Here's what it's about, from the blurb:

Sylvie has always been the odd one out in her family. Her mother is a celebrated artist, known for her bohemian lifestyle. Her father, long estranged from the family, is a respected poet and academic. Sylvie’s two beautiful sisters and her big brother are also making their mark in the design world.

Sylvie hasn’t an artistic bone in her body. On the verge of turning thirty, back living in the family home in Sydney and working for her mother and sisters, she feels stuck in a major rut.

Then her brother Sebastian steps in with a rescue plan. He offers her a room in his Melbourne apartment for as long as she likes, on one condition. In an updated version of a treasure hunting game they played as children, she has to follow his instructions and go exploring the city.

Within days, she’s doing things she’s never done before, going to places she’s never been and beginning to think of ideas for a new career. She is also getting to know a very lovely man. Life is looking up.

Then Sebastian reveals one final challenge.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I'm trying to release books into the wild more instead of saving them for some potential future ideal reader. There's way too much stuff in my house, some of it needs to move on.

Popped into Chikusa Coffee in Jyatha on Saturday (two days ago) to escape the rain and enjoy a cup of their wonderful and cheap fresh brew. Left this on the bookshelf tucked above the reception desk of the Lhasa Guest House alongside; only realized when making the release notes that I originally bought it from United Books, just a few short steps down the road... guess you could call this book a homing pigeon!
