A VERY funny book about travelling in Ireland. Well-written, with laugh-out-loud moments. It reminds me of travels in Ireland descriptions of the places and characters are very accurate.

On the way to Charbono - ENJOY!

July 2004

Received as part of felicia-fairy's "already crossed" bookbox in December 2003. I read it straight away but have only just found it among my boxes of other books. (I've moved house twice in that time, if that's any excuse!!!)

Anyway I really did enjoy it. This book is a true story about a man who makes a bet that he can get around Ireland in 30 days, hitchhiking with a fridge. (yes, he is a bit nuts... but it all works out.) Quite inspiring actually!!

I was also amazed to realise that the author wrote the song "Stutter Rap" (Morris Minor & the Majors) which I loved as a child.

author's website, where he pranks people who email him thinking he's Tony Hawk the skater.

Giving this to my mum to read/release.

Eeeek ! This originally from felicia-fairy ?

How wonderful to find this, and a few other books, hidden on my bookshelf. One of the books I covered during a 'BXing-fest'

Thanks, to you both.

PS. I wish you were still here, Char.

With such shocking loss of life due to the South East Asia Earthquake and tsunami, I haven't felt in the mood for reading books containing death and destruction. And I find all those 'Holiday Sales' promising huge discounts for things we don't really NEED somewhat depressing right now.

So took this book from my TBR pile, and sure enough - laughed and laughed before falling asleep.

Thanks, ladies !

Following on from previous entry, I'm still reading it, and yes, still laughing !

Such a funny book, I'm almost finished - up to Cork at the moment. After working on web-stuff for the Lions Tsunami Appeal, and while trying to work through so many books to release then, It's been good to have this to read.

What a funny book !

The images of Ireland and the Irish brought back many, many memories, particulary of driving around the island.

Perhaps it won't appeal to everyone, yet I really enjoyed Tony's sense of humour and his dry wit. I trust future readers get as many laughs out of it as I did.
