You have only to read the prologue.
I live on the coast of the Albemarle in NE NC, USA.
I have recently read the Cliffs Notes and think the "Notes" author shoud be keelhauled first at least as the plank is too kind.
This is the story of every person you have ever met; more pointedly, every person you ever loved or hated.
To enjoy this book you will need to set your heart to a time when ships were wood and men were iron (if you do not read asexual you are bisexual...).
And if you like; tune your voice to the capstans bars, watch Muppett Treasure Island on the tube. There is however, no substitute to the book.
Will you be home with what is sly and quick or with captain and country?
Let me know?
