Hauntings: True Life Sightings and Experiences of Ghosts

Spotted this in a bargain bin for 99p - couldn't resist it.
This is the sort of book that is ok to dip in and out of, but quickly becomes a bit boring if you try to read it too large a chunk. The basic entry lists a house, castle, road, etc and has a brief overview of what sort of hauntings go on there. To be honest, it is a bit repetitive, although some of the entries go into more detail and those are the gems to read - they tell a story of what happened rather than just saying 'there's a ghost!" The author finishes off each entry in a over-dramatic way, as if trying a little too hard to make the reader scared - "if you visit, who knows what restless spirit you'll be sharing a drink with" and loads of variations. Maybe works once, but quickly palls with over-use.
Oh, and as a bit of fun, count how many times the author uses 'plethora' ..... she must really like that word.
Overall, ok, but there are lot better books out there exploring the same theme.

Thanks dark-draco for this book. Funny, I am the only non ghost believer in my family, and we always have nice discussions about this. None yet brought managed to bring enough arguments to make me believe in them (but they are not very good debaters), let's see if this book will be better at it ^^
(PS: if I don't believe in ghosts, I love ghost stories)

I finally got to read this book, and I totally agree with the review above by dark-draco. I couldn't say it better. I'm sure a lot of research went into this, but it does come out a bit boring and repetitive.
It'll be on its way soon to the next reader who picked it from the Alphabet VBB, I hope she'll be more interested than me in these ghost stories.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
I wish this book a safe travel.
And here it is!!
Thank you very much, I think this is a book I will really like.
I have gone through the list to see if it included any haunted places I have visited (I have been to a few, never seen anything!)... and no, at least at first glance. I really wanted to see if Pluckley, the most haunted village in England, deserved an entry... Being there twice...
Thank you soo much, I have also enjoyed the entries by previous readers. :)
