Well. Not quite a James Bond- type of spy story (I was glad to find that out). I've never ever been into spy stories so this one is read solely for the reason for moving on in the list of 1001 books. This one's my 100th, woohoo ;)
As spy genre is a stranger to me I can't tell if this one's particularly this or that in that sense. Even though I'm not a fan and for me the book was occasionally boring, I did read almost non-stop to find out what's going on. And I liked the bits of Berlin :)
The main character Leamas reminds me as a mix of Wallander and James Bond (well, Bond for obvious reasons).
And the end was a bit surprising at first. Or maybe not.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Sent to another bookcrosser for the International Saint Piran's Day exchange. The book is written by a writer who has been living in Cornwall for decades.
This nice little book arrived in my mail today. Thank you mcsar for sending it to me for the St. Piran's Day exchange. I have read this book before although I must admit it was some years ago and I don't remember too much about it. I am tempted to reread it but I've got so many books to read that I may not do so. I'll keep it in the reading queue for now and see how it strikes me at a later date.
I really have too many books to read so I have offered this one on the Mystery/Thriller VBB.
bookstogive who organized the Mystery/Thriller VBB has been out of action for many months due to her husband's ill health. I left my books in the VBB hoping she would get back to BC but I've decided it is probably time to move these books on so I'm going to make this one available.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
The WHS put out a call for donations of good condition used books for their Curbside Pickup Book Sale so I thought I would drop this book and a few others off when I pick up my bundle of books.
This release is for hyphen8's 2020 20/20 Vision Release Challenge for the word "Spy" in the title.
When you find a BookCrossing book it is yours to do with what you like. You can read it and keep it or pass it on or if you don't think it is your kind of book pass it on to someone who might like it or release it in a spot for someone else to find like you just did. Whatever you choose it would be great if you could write a short note letting us know what new adventures the book is on.
