An elderly lady of leisure has been found dead on posh Larchmont Avenue, her will recently - and suspiciously - revised to name Seymour as heir to her mansion. Just as eyes turn to him ans the murderer - and Seymour gets busy settling into his ritzy digs - the mansion's ghosts begin plaguing him. so he hires a team of parapsychologists to exorcise all the spirits from the town of Quindicott - and that includes Jack. Pen must act fast, because losing Jack scares Pen more than rattling chains and cold spots...

I think, I liked this episode the best so far- and even book 1 to 4 were really nice reads as well. The haunted mansion and the inquiries around it are nicely told and one can feel the early summer breezes and the terror when the crying and stomping goes on the mansion. We have several suspects, some of which might turn up in further books, as their strange behavior was not fully explained, and an convincing explanation, why the murder has been committed.

I wasn't very impressed with this installment of the series and found it quite boring.
Actually I'm surprised that after nearly 10 days reading I got through to the end as I honestly didn't care who did what, why or how.
