Book Description: Thirty-four-year-old Manhattan accountant Cat Connelly has always lived life on the safe side. But after her little sister gets married, Cat wonders if she has condemned herself to a life of boredom by playing by the rules. She decides to take a chance for once, accepting an invitation to spend a month with an old flame in Italy. But her reunion with the slick and gorgeous Francesco is short-lived, and she finds herself suddenly alone in Rome. Now, she must see if she has the courage to live outside the lines for the first time - and to face a past she never understood. It will take an unexpected friendship with a fiery Italian waitress, a whirlwind Vespa tour of the Eternal City with a handsome stranger, and a surprise encounter with an old acquaintance to show Cat that life doesn't always work out the way you expect, but sometimes you have to have fall in order to fly.

Ar first I thought this book was going to be a bit shallow, simply a woman looking for romance. However, as the story developed it had a lot more depth than I originally thought and I enjoyed this book very much. It was interesting to go along on Cat's journey to discover her true self as she learned to think outside the box rather than always living life on the safe side.

I decided that this book was so formulaic that it wasn't really entertaining. Sort of "name checked" all sorts of insecurities in the main character, but her only insecurity should have been how supremely dumb she is.

Maybe it will be more fun for you. I stopped reading it in the middle, to read a better book. Am planning to take to the Boston Bookcrossing meet up this afternoon.

Light read, set in and around Rome/Italy. Read it over the holidays so it's a little bit of a blur--sort of like eating a bag of M&M's really fast/sugar rush/no real memory but fun. Releasing 1/17/20 community bookcase, cafeteria lower level, One Ashburton Place, Boston, MA US.
