March 21 - I´m not sure, but maybe I´ve read this book years ago (but as always, I don´t remember the exciting parts). Anyway, I liked it a lot, like all the other Ian McEwans...
Personally I was a little surprised how you can spend a day (even a Saturday :-) thinking so much about yourself. Professionally I was surprised how much some people like their jobs :-) Not that I know a lot of neurosurgeons, but well, the description does not sound at all improbable...

Edit 6:th June 2013; My opinion: One day, an event that leads to so much. I wondered if this could happened in reality and Sure it can. It was very interesting to follow Henry Perowne's day and his thoughts on Iraq, his patients, his mother, his children, the gangster and how he reacted when he was training with his colleague. I loved this book.
