I finished this book earlier today and I found it quite OK, but to be honest, I think the blurb is a bit deceiving... I though this would be a completely new story set on modern times and based loosely on Angus' myths or maybe a retelling of the original myth narrated parallelly to said modern story.
What the book consisted of though, were alternate short chapters, a fragment of Angus' mythology followed by a modern short story somewhat connected to it.
I felt that the mythology part was more satisfying that the modern part, but was lacking somehow on details and felt quite simplistic. In the meantime, the modern short stories were so...well, short, that felt like snippets of stories and their potential didn't materialise. I liked some of them better than others, but I found them not great in general.
Although I read this in one afternoon, due to format and subject matter, I think it is an easy and pleasant little book that one can read slowly on different slots of time too, for example on commute or similar. Quite handy to pass the time!
Not a bad book, but not extraordinary either on my opinion...
