A face-paced whodunit and why type book. Homicide Detective Jane Rizzoli is called to the scene at a convent to discover a young, dead nun and an older, extremely injured nun. As the case unravels it becomes a much larger cover-up than anyone had originally imagined.

This one sounds interesting....removing from the box.
A 22-year-old nun is found murdered within the walls of the convent, alongside another older nun who is beaten nearly to death and is taken to the hospital. Medical examiner Maura Isles, alongside her colleague detective Jane Rizzoli, are on the case to discover the who and why. Shortly after, another woman in another part of town is found dead, her hands & feet missing. Though the two murders seem nothing alike, they are connected in surprising ways, and Maura and Jane work together to figure out the connections.
Every once in a while I enjoy a murder/cop story to cleanse my reading palate, and this one fit the bill. I had to look back at my reading history to be sure, but I've read one previous novel by Tess Gerritsen and I was less than impressed by that one. But I did for the most part enjoy this one, even despite it being an abridged audio. It was a good abridgment and I didn't feel like I lost a lot of the meat of the story, as often happens with abridgments. The plot kept me interested and I was puzzled trying to figure out the connection between the two murders. Overall, a pretty good one for this genre.
