I read this for my book club and found it engrossing. A simple story about elementary school spelling bees suddenly takes an unexpected turn into Kabbalah mysticism. Like nothing else I have ever read.

I was at Starbucks on Yonge and Bloor and saw the book. Can't wait to read it.
This book has been with me for a bit and I have tried to read it for the third time. I guess it is not meant to be.

Sent off to start the ray!
This just arrived in my mail slot -- I can't wait to get started! :)
What a great book! I really enjoyed its complexity and its growth/devolvement (depending on the character ;)). It was a wonderful read that has left me with plenty to think about, which I LOVE. Thanks so much for starting this ray -- I'm so glad to have found it! :)
Put this book in the mail this morning! It's on its way to angela861! :)
I received the book today! Now I have something to read on vacation!

The book arrived today. I look forward to reading it and journaling more in the near future ;o)
At first I was really enjoying this book, but as the story continued, I began losing respect for the characters. I did enjoy reading about the sons religious endeavors. It is in the mail and on its way to New Zealand.
Received today. Is next on my TBR pile. Hopefully won't take long.
Journal Entry 17 by VeganMedusa from Invercargill, Southland New Zealand on Friday, February 15, 2008
Thanks Bookcloud, I've been wanting to read this since seeing the movie. :)
I finished this late last night and couldn't get to sleep for ages, I was on such a high. I just loved each character and their journeys. Aaron, struggling to find his own path while battling teenage urges was hilarious at times; Miriam was such a distant, shut-off person but I found myself relating to her the most, but I can't figure out why. And I just wanted to be Eliza. :)
Definitely one of the best books I've read in a long while.
Posted today to Flicki (for a bookobsessed.com TBR swap). Enjoy! :)
