A Multitude of Sins

This is a book of short stories, which is not always a genre that I fully appreciate. The stories are themed about love and failure. Well written and the characters feel authentic.
A variety of characters and situations rendered in language cuttingly realistic and profoundly illuminating of the tricks and strategies of the minds of people in and out of love and connection. Richard Ford's understanding of humanity is deep and respectful. It is a compelling series of stories for adults: sensitive and frankly depicted subject matter.
