1987 Parabola trade paperback of the 1963 English translation of the French autobiography. I found this copy today in the free books box on the porch of Dimond Library.
Edit April 10, 2021: This was pretty good and powerful, about a French boy who goes blind, then grows up and gets thrown into Buchenwarld by Nazis during the War. The ending scenes as the war was ending, with Allies approaching, gave an intriguing insight into all the sides around the psychotic mass death machine. It is remarkable what people do at times. This high quality copy is in very good shape still, except a corner of the bottom cover is torn off, as it was when I found it way back then. I currently have this ranked at #793 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.
