15 year old Matthew Moore is a popular kid as school. Then his Grandmother's house catches fire and she moves in. She is still obsess with her dead daughter Cynthia. Matthew is haunted by dreams of Aunt Cynthia coming to him and night and by how cruel his Grandmother is to him and his mother. His stepfather moves out in the meantime. Then for his sixteenth birthday his stepdad takes him hunting with all their friends and ends up dead. Did Matthew do it, or somebody else....??? Pretty good book, typical John Saul with a haunted teen. Would definately recommend to anyone.

Received in the mail today. Thanks much. TBR.

Most John Saul books are pretty good and this one was no exception. Was a fast, easy read. Finished it in one evening and the plot kept my interest.
Certainly would recommend to others who like this genre.

Very good and eerie mystery starting off with an abused child and cycling up into horror. The story centers around teen Matthew Moore, whose life and whose mother is turned upside down when his grandmother, in early stages of Alzheimers, moves into their home. The story is well-written and s the mystery is revealed in stages, it keeps you hooked.
