I like audio books, but normally I try to listen to the unabridged ones, the edited editions often being edited with a fine chainsaw, if you see what I mean. Nonetheless, when I saw this little volume, weighing in at only three hours, was read by Neil Pearson, star of 'Between The Lines' and officially Britain's sexiest voice, I just had to buy it and listen. And very good it is too, though you have to wonder what was missing. Apart from the missing kid, that is; if you see what I mean. Nice bit of lead mining history too, which, as all Constant Cavers will know, is all to the good.

Found this gem tucked behind some bigger books, it pays to rummage. I also like taped books and am glad to see some out in the wild

Listened to this while doing some housework, and time passed very quickly. I did enjoy the story but felt it was too short. I didn't find it particularly challenging. It may be something to do with the relationship to physical books and how you 'hear 'the words when you read it yourself. There was a sex scene in it that was really bland, where I imagine in the book it is a lot more descriptive and you can see more in your minds eye.
