We've brought this book on holiday with us to Japan and have been reading it most nights. I love the rhythm of the rhymes and the whole feel of this book that is perfect for bedtime. I was thinking we'd leave it here in Japan but I'm not sure that we're ready to part with it just yet.

Just to say that we are still loving this book - it is now nearly always the last book we read before sleep and it is so soothing that my daughter even sometimes falls asleep just at the end of the book - magic!

This book actually did a stint in a house in the hills near St Antonin Noble Val where we forgot it last summer. Then it was sent back to us, I'm not sure when, and we're still reading it off and on. Last night my daughter fell asleep beautifully and early on the final page. I read it slowly and soothingly and it works magic! I want to give it to every mother of young children I know, but am definitely not ready to part with it!

A truly magical sleep-inducing book!!

Just thought I'd say this book is still working its magic. My daughter is nearly 5 now and bedtime is easier than it used to be. This book is getting read most nights, and came with us to Madrid at Christmas. I switch off the light, have just enough light to see the words and read it slowly and soothingly. She is often asleep before the end, or in fact more often, asleep by the end of the last line in the book - as if its author had studied exactly how long it needs to be. We had a new babysitter on Saturday and she asked me today to text me the title and author of "the magic book"!

This book did another stint July 2018 to Feb 2019 in a flat in Gdansk - very glad that it has come back and is again soothing my nearly-six yr old before she goes to sleep :).
