Imagine having a personal cupid -- an actual winged being -- pop into your life and offer to make your dreams come true. The catch is that he can help you in only one way: artistically, academically, or romantically. That's what happens to aspiring photographer A.J. McCreary. A.J. knows she should concentrate on getting into a top-notch art school. But she's spent five torturous months obsessed with handsome hunk Peter Terris. Just one shot from cupid's bow and thwonk! A.J. will have Peter's undying devotion...forever.
To give away at the BC_DC holiday party here at my house.

I picked this up at the BCinDC holiday party today as part of the "first lines" game. It looks pretty clever.
I am taking this book with me on my upcoming vacation in Europe. If I finish reading it while I'm there I'll release it wherever I happen to be and update this journal entry accordingly.
Edit 6 May 2013: I finished this while still in Europe, but I didn't get around to reviewing it until today.
A.J. McCreary is a teen photographer desperately in love with the unattainable Peter Terris. One day she is visited by a real life cupid who offers to make her dreams come true. Because she is a teen girl and without stupid decisions we wouldn't have a story, she immediately asks for Peter to fall in love with her. The whole thing pans out about as well as you'd expect it to, but the really interesting thing about this book is the photography angle. My favorite parts were A.J.'s experiences snapping pictures and developing them. It's easy to forget that photography is just as much an art form as drawing and music, where composition is key. So while the teen romance story was a bit silly and a lot predictable, I still enjoyed this cautionary tale about love and art. I don't know how well it would hold up to a current teenager (I found it very relatable since it takes place in the years I attended high school), but what do I know?
