WOW! What a wonderful surprise!!! I laughed my way through "The Sex lives of Cannibals," and fully expect I will through this one~~I find Troost's style hysterically funny, Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, Lamilla!!!!!
Now I'm getting ready to offer this on an audio vbb, and I see I failed to journal after reading~ smack me with a wet noodle. I listened to it right away and LOVED it! Then I loaned it to a friend for awhile, and it has sat on my shelf since then, waiting to be passed on.
While there is much I would love to see and experience in China, after listening to Troost's book, I've decided it is not somewhere I care to visit....I simply would not be able to cope with the total lack of personal space. And as a vegetarian, food would be difficult as well. LOL.
btw, I enjoyed the book enough to copy it onto my hard drive to listen again in the future.

The book arrived today. Thank you for sharing this book with me. For some reason, I enjoy reading books about or set in China.
Enjoy! lending to my GALS friend. I will get it back when she and her husband listen to it.
Going to start listening to this tomorrow. I have big hopes for this book.
Finished the book tonight. What I enjoyed about the book was that he went to China knowing (what he says) very little about the country, so he saw it from fresh eyes. I had two thoughts: 1) the author was brave to travel to places that weren't tourist places or on tours, especially with not knowing Chinese and 2) his wife must be a saint to let him go alone for so long.
Now, to find a new home for the book.

Enjoy! Chosen from my CD only VBB by dabercro. Glad the book found a new listener.
Arrived in the mail today. Thanks for sending.
I finished listening to this book over a week ago and haven't had time to journal. An interesting book. After listening to the author's adventure, I'm not sure that I am interested in visiting China. The overpopulation, crowding, and food were turnoffs for me. I don't think I would be adventurous enough to go on my own to a country I know little about and where I don't speak the language.
