Yeah, I enjoyed this even though I was a bit disappointed when it had the ending it needed to have which makes absolutely no sense at all. It's well set out in that it's written in the style of a whodunit so this did spur you on at the end of each chapter. I'm guessing that if you're a mother, the plot has more resonance than if you're not.

I find it quite charming that she uses her experience of being an English Lit. graduate as character background for her two books even though the literature cited is not literature I'm particularly interested in. I do wonder which market she's writing for; there are so many Americanisms in this book that they jump off the page at you as if they're written in large, bold font, but this is my own particular bugbear.

One thing about Mrs. Healey's character though, if I employed someone who dressed inappropriately at work, I'd damn well tell them directly instead of locking them away in a 3rd floor office like a Mrs. Rochester. You can't expect someone to magically know what's appropriate office attire and what isn't.
