Bought this at a used book sale a while back.

I earread a copy of this on audio and had this to say about it:
I was surprised by this book. A book that revolves around the central event of a car accident might not be the kind of thing you'd want to listen to in your car. But I found it interesting, entertaining, and easy to earread. The accident occurs early into the novel, as two women leave their respective husbands and, unfortunately, collide on the road on a dark & foggy night. One of the women survives, and that one keeps wanting to know what happened. How do you recover from something like accidentally killing a woman who has a family? The answer is: not easily. The family (husband and son) of the woman who died keep finding their own lives drawn toward the woman who survived (little Sam keeps intentionally seeking her out, because he saw her at the scene and thinks she is an angel). Their lives intersect and then come crashing together in strange ways. The way it turns out in the end was satisfying to me, albeit not at all what I expected. It felt realistic, though, the way it turned out, so I'm happy with that.

The characters were really what kept me engrossed--especially Sam (poor little kid!) and Nelson(the turtle). Charlie, Isabelle, Sam, and even April seemed so real to me by the end of the book I almost wasn't sure if this was fiction or nonfiction (almost).

I picked up this trade paperback from Birdie's Cafe in Westminster, Maryland, at a BC in DC Meet-up.

You may not like literary fiction, KateKintail, but I do! I hope to read this book sooner rather than later. :)

This is Book-Culling Day!

from over 460 books on my To Be Read pile, I am now releasing some of those that I don't think I'll ever get around to reading in my lifetime. This is one of those books! I hope it finds another appreciative reader in place of myself.

I'm releasing this book for...

*** The 2020 You're Such an Animal Release Challenge hosted by Secretariat. The book's title includes the word OU. An ou is a fruit-eating Hawaiian honeycreeper with a stout bill and green and yellow plumage.

Enjoy the book!

Picked this book during the BCinDC 1st Line Holiday Dec. 2020 game we had on Zoom due to CV19 epidemic. Due to the pandemic a socially distanced pickup and drop off of books was conducted with the help of fellow BC'er and friend "6of8". Thanks for the book Squeaky.
