Stephen King's best single novel. At 1,041 page the uncut version is a lengthy read, but the novel contains everything an epic tale could: Death, Betrayal, Love, Hope, not to mention the apocalyptic battle between Good and Evil.
-------------------------
It all begins when a deadly virus manufactured in a military bunker manages to escape through a foolish MP. From there the virus spreads to all points of the globe, killing 99.4% of those infected with it. In an extinct America, the survivors are left to struggle in a dead world where an even greater evil arises to threaten them in a manner that may have them wishing they had died from the virus instead.
