Got this from mississippimom today and I have the other one by the same author - so, perfect! Now just need to figure out which one I should read first. Thanks mm!
After my introduction to Chet and Bernie in the first book, Dog On It, I was looking forward to this second book in the series. The characters did not disappoint - if anything, I thought Chet was funnier and still authentic in this story. At first I wasn't too keen on the dog show venue but the plot had enough depth and additional interesting characters to get me through. Would definitely read more of this series - fun and enjoyable.

"A detective, a dog, and some major-league prose..." what more could I ask for? Thanks for sharing!
Chet has to be one of the most loveable fictional characters I've ever come across. Such a fun read! Thanks for sharing!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Releasing into the Intentional Variety Bookbox #8
I’ve read quite a variety of cat mysteries, but I think only one other with a canine. Oh no, that’s not true ~ Rita Mae Browns mysteries feature cats and a dog who together solve mysteries. Still this is different from from most I’ve ever read, and I look forward to enjoying it.
Well, I was not as enamored by this book as others were. Quinn has certainly captured the essence of dogness in Chet, which I did get a kick out of. Up to a point. But, and it’s a big but; once Chets character was well-established, I really felt the doggy attention span bit needed to be scaled back so that the story could move forward. It was just too much, got in the way, and the times became tiresome.
But that’s just my opinion, previous readers felt very differently; ‘different strokes for different folks’ lol
I don’t know yet whether I will release this in an LFL, or hold onto it and add to the next round of my Wild Things bookbox.
