Passing this book along with the other two from the series to my bc buddy bkind2books.
I hope you enjoy this trilogy...it is similar to the Hungar Games trilogy.

Thank you for this trilogy. It certainly looks like my cup of tea. I appreciate your generosity and look forward to reading this series.

I liked the conclusion to this series and almost gave it a higher rating, but there are some flaws in the plot and characters that really lead me to rate it lower. The series as a whole was not as good as it could have been. There was a lot of untapped potential. This final book of the trilogy does answer plenty of questions but some of them do not make a lot of sense - as in the Rising and the Society are pretty much in cahoots and there's little to no difference between them?

Then, there are the characters - I had hoped that over the course of the trilogy that we would come to know Ky better, but he never seemed to be fleshed out to me. Cassia, on the other hand, comes off as annoying. My favorite character was Xander - he was the only one of the three who seems to grow and learn during the novel. His journey is a difficult one and I found that his ending, while a little far-fetched, was satisfying. This was a good series and one which fans of dystopian fiction will probably like if they can overlook some of the flaws.

Quotes to remember:

"My biggest regrets are from saving and holding back."

"Writing, painting, singing - it cannot stop everything. But perhaps it can make the pause between death's footsteps sound and look and feel beautiful, can make the space of waiting a place where you can linger without as much fear. For we are all walking each other to our deaths, and the journey there between footsteps makes up our lives."

Giving to my work friend and then will make available
