Dear Finder,You have found a very special book. This book is not only registered online through a wonderful global book community that “frees” books, but also has been placed here just for you to find in honor of Dr. Suess’s 100th birthday celebration!
Why? In August 2003 I decided that I wanted to do a special release of Dr. Seuss books (and Dr. Seuss “Beginner Books”) to take part in the March 2, 2004 Seussentennial Celebration. Dr. Seuss helped introduced generations to a world of imagination! His books are entertaining and encourage children to read, think, and create.
I hoped by releasing (“freeing”) his books (or “Beginner Books” that he supported), I could reintroduce local children to the wonderful world of books and BookCrossing. The books have been released at local daycares, schools, parks, hospitals, and other places where young children are. The books have been released throughout Vero Beach, Fort Pierce, and Port St. Lucie (Florida).
My ‘dream’ goal was to have 100 books (for the 100th birthday of Dr. Seuss) ~ A goal that came true! And you have found one of those books!!!
But I could not do this alone. Many caring people all over the United States and Canada provided support ~ either through book trades, book donations, and/or supplies (like the Dr. Seuss labels you found inside the book).
I cannot even begin to thank these people. Why did they do this for you? Because they knew they could make many children happy. They knew that one day, because of one inspirational book, that child may turn out to do wondrous (unimaginable outside the Seuss World) things. Things that could change the world for the better. They knew that their kindness would touch many lives in more ways than one can imagine!

The day before finding this book on a bench in White City Park, I was reading the same book to a group of second graders at a local school celebrating Dr. Seuss anniversary. I brought the book home from the park and enjoyed reading it to my 3 year old great granddaughter, who loved the fun rhymes. Book crossing-what a neat idea!
