Removed this from the bin at work as it was unsaleable due to its condition. It was one of the ones I decided I wanted to read, so it goes on my mtbr list. The others will be released somewhere

I really enjoyed this book and intend reading the whole series. I live in London and was able to follow them around in my brain knowing a lot of the time where they were. The story line was plausible for a fantasy story and I think this series may be my follow on series from the disc world books, although very very different.

There is half a page missing from the book, fortunately not in a particularly important place.

Thank you for sending this my way, I'm looking forward to reading this but it may be a while until I can get to it as my TBR pile is massive.
Thanks too for the London postcard :-)

Welcome back my book friend! This book was what started me off on the Peter Grant series and I would like to read it again as it might make more sense now.

interestingly, although I read this book 3 years ago, I didn't remember most of the plot! That must be a sign of a good plot and excellent writing. I really enjoyed reading it again, some of the things in the book must have been easier to understand this time round, such as why Lesley was wearing a mask, however another sign of a good writer is that this didn't matter first time round. Looking forward to reading the rest

Found at the Oxford meet yesterday. Looks interesting and a little bit different!

Ok so this is third in a series so I was missing some backstory for the main characters. There were, however, a lot of passing references back that more or less filled in in the gaps. This made not a jot of difference to how much I enjoyed this book. I absolutely loved it! The whole premise is highly imaginative and slightly bonkers but somehow plausible too! Well written, it leaps along at quite a pace and is full of wonderful characters. It's been a long time since a novel made me laugh out loud so much, I love Peter's dry wit and the amusing cultural references and I learned quite a bit about London's deep (literally) history.

I'll definitely be coming back for more, prequels and sequels!
