The author talks about her rise to stardom as part of a country singing duo, along with her daughter Wynonna Judd, and how her faith in God has guided her life even when she needed to retire because of a life-threatening illness.

I started this book on September 16 because it fit with plum-crazy's "what to read for September" theme of birds (LOVE being an acceptable word). It has taken me nearly a month to read, not because it was a bad book but because I've been busy and haven't been able to read more than a few pages at a time. This book went with me to Myrtle Beach and the Great Smokey Mountains. I did enjoy it very much. I have never been much of a country music fan but I enjoyed learning about Naomi and Wynonna's history and career. I appreciated most that Naomi talked about her faith and the things that has helped her get through the tough days. The photo album section of this book has pages falling out. I have taped them the best I can but the book is still very readable.
