Mailed it off to Xirxe today.

I'm sorry I kept it so long this time, I got kind off distracted by my new job.

I didn't enjoy this volume as much as the previous ones. Both Dream and Delirium somewhat annoyed me.

As always, thank you very much for this ring! :-D

Today 'The Sandman' arrived safely. Thanks a lot for the ring, LiliyKlip! And thank you, SerendipityN, for sending it!
Just 100 pages of another book, than I'll start reading.

16. November 2012
It is the first Sandman series in which the Endless play the main role. Delirium, Dreams sister, longs for her brother Destruction, who has left the family of the Endless 300 years ago - no one knows where he is. After Desire and Despair refused helping delirium in her search, she turns to Dream, who will surprisingly stand by her. However due to selfish reasons: Just left from his beloved, he is hoping to think of other things and maybe, in secrete, to meet her once again ...
I have to admit, that this Sandman series left me behind with mixed feelings. On the one hand it is a story that is unique to sense and serious thoughts about the uniqueness and finality of life in this form, on the other hand there are so many references to previous volumes, that I am constantly asked myself, what was happening before, who are these persons, don’t I know them, etc. Unfortunately, between my readings of each book there are longer periods and not all is still present, so I think my reading experience was significantly diminished. Otherwise, the drawings are awesome as always, with some of them are almost be described as paintings.
All in all, great reading material, but if possible, just read it in conjunction with the preceding books. And I, I have to read it again ;-)

Hi Xirxe,

just read your entry and you're absolutely right. It gets very complex and sometimes it's hard to keep track of characters and events. I read the whole series twice so far (just started rereading for a third time) and there is so much you only realise when you read it again - or have the books at hand to go back to previous volumes. That's one thing I love about those books. There is always something new to discover, even (or especially) if you've read them before.

Hope you keep enjoying the stories. Sweet Dreams !

Yay another Sandman arrived here safely today. :) Thanks for sending it on Xirxe and the tea, nice stamps on the envelope too! I'll start with this one soon. :)
Thanks again for bookring LilyKlip!

Really enjoyed this volume, it felt a bit different (sadder? and also more of a continuous story). Delirium and Dream go on a journey together, to search for their missing brother (they make quite an odd pair and the drawings made me smile). Haven't seen much of Delirium before in the previous volumes but I have come to like her, she's funny and often more 'here' and understanding than it seems. (And I wished they mentioned who it was that left Dream? I can't remember. :p)

I enjoyed this latest installment of Sandman. I liked the fact it was a whole story and you find out much more about Dream and his siblings.

There are definitely shades of American Gods coming through in the story of Ishtar and Pharamond.

On its way to Lunacia.

Found this book in my mail box when I got home after almost a week in the Oslo area due to work and union stuff. Alas, the book smells too much (had to wash my hands after touching it), so had to put it away. Hope the smells go away soon, so that I can read it!

As some other partisipants in this ring, I didn't like this book as much as I liked the previous ones. I found Delirium being so annoying and I would have never take that trip with her! :D Although the journey was interesting, I think the end was a bit lame. Maybe things start flowing again in the next book!

I liked Barnabas, if I would be a dog-person, I would like to have a dog like him ;)

After straight 24 hours of work I did not feel like sitting at my computer again today, so I finally turned my attention to this long ignored volume. And I must admit I enjoyed it immensely. Most of the volume is pretty straightforward and chronological so it was easier to follow than some previous volumes. And while I did find myself struggling to remember some of the previous events which were referenced, it did not detract much from reading chapters that finally gave us more insight regarding the Endless.

Thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing and sending.
On to the next volume now, and then they both return home.
Thanks for your understanding and patience, LilyKlip!
