It has arrived safely! Thanks so much, dutch-flybabe, for the trade.
I loved this book! It was so beautifully written and so clever in its use of the mythology of the basilisk. Apparently Wangerin said that it wasn't meant to be an allegory, but of course, as a Christian, it's hard not to read at least parts of it that way.
I actually finished reading this over a week ago - it is now with my husband (not a BC member) and I plan to pass it around amongst some other friends and family before releasing it.

The fantasy genre was a new experience for me, I don't usually read fantasy titles, but this was a good exception. Thank you for passing it on!
