A cheap (£2.99) buy from Waterstones, looks interesting, '...a quirky. amusing and inspiring tale about a radical change of life that could help change yours.'
(25/09) A great book, borderline 9 *'s (the end was a bit weird). Stephen King rates this as a, 'generational touchstone', like Catch-22 or The Catcher in the Rye. Well, history will tell, but this is definitely a tale of our times and the disconnectness of individuals in society. In this case Richard Novak, a middle-aged trader in Los Angeles, has a health scare that causes him to re-examine his life and relationships. We meet the life-loving philosopher donut shop-owner Anhil and washed-up hippy author Nic, and the crying lady from produce...amongst others...who steer and guide Richard towards a kind of catharsis (ref. weird ending). I loved the characters, the dialogue, and the gentle, wacky Californian scenery. Enjoy :)

I concur. I liked the book, but the end was weird.
I released this book at the Phone Box Book Swap in Little Bentley, Essex. Sorry, I can't make release notes, but the website is being glitchy.
