It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas for the knitters of Fort Connor, Colorado, who are furiously working on their holiday projects. And it's not a stitch too soon, because some unfortunate residents will be feeling a deadly chill instead of a holiday cheer...

Kelly Flynn and her friends have transformed the House of Lambspun into a winter wonderland - complete with a new mascot, an actual lamb named Annie. But their most rewarding project is helping town's librarian, Juliet, teach children how to knit.
Juliet has extra reason to be joyful this year - she's in love. But just as Juliet finds happiness, death finds her, leaving her not-so-festively facedown in her t5rademark Christmas cape. Suspicion falls on a knitting newcomer - a lonely widow with a puzzling past. Some believe she was sweet on Juliet's wealthy boyfriend, but Kelly and her knitting crew aren't convinced. It's up to them to separate the lion from the lambs - before someone else gets fleeced...

This is a very cozy story again and I liked even the Acknowledgements at the beginning (how the book got its name). I read the book during the heat wave, sweating and feeling dizzy because of the humidity and reading about cold winds and first snowflakes helped to feel a little bit better. One can smell the holiday spices like cardamom and cinnamon and I constantly wanted to drink a nice cup of coffee while reading.
I do not want to spoil the next reader's experience, therefore I won't say too much about the content, but the balance between the crime facts and the little sleuthing by Kelly was nicely made. I suspected Claudia from the beginning of being guilty of murdering her husbands, but whether this is true, I will not say here.
Kelly was a little bit slow in getting the facts straight - it was rather easy for the reader to do that before her, but still it is sooooo cozy to read the book, it didn't matter to me.

Everytime I read one of Maggie Sefton's knitting mysteries, I can't wait for the next one. I hope this series never ends!
As with the rest of the books in this series, I couldn't put it down. Maggie has a way of writing that makes you feel like you could jump right into her book and join the ladies at the knitting table.
I loved how there were other stories going on in this one, outside of the murder mystery itself. I also liked that the murder victim wasn't necessarily anyone the reader would feel too "attached" to this time. Was the murderer obvious? Maybe so, but it was still interesting reading how Kelly put the pieces together to help police solve yet another murder in Fort Collins. I also love the dynamics of all the personalities, and how these friends have become a family. Love the progress in all the romantic relationships as well.
