I absolutely adored this book. I didnt really know what to expect when I started it - maybe the usual boys meets girl blah blah blah. But it was so much more, I loved the fact that it was written from Ethans point of view. The plot was fantastic, so many twists and the ending has definately left me itching to read the next book to find out what happens to Ethan and Lena.

Thank you for this! It's been along time since I got a book in the post. Really I should stop them coming because I have to many books but I can't stop myself from saying yes when somebody offers me one. I stuck this on my wishlist because Sci-Fi Now magazine had it on a list of YA book that had been snapped up by film studios. It sounds pretty cool. Looking forward to reading it when it gets to top of mount tbr. Thanks again :)

I was expecting to like this more than I did. I mean, I did like it and I'm sure if I had read this as a teenager I would have loved it to bits but it was lacking in that something special. It was an easy read and had a decent enough plot. Lena and Ethan were both likable characters and it made a nice change to have a ya novel from a boys pov. My favorite character in the whole book was Uncle Macon and the scene where he busts into the hall was the best in the book. There were somethings that annoyed me though. Like Lena wanting to go to that surprise party even though there might as well have been a big sign saying "It's a trap!". I can't believe they were all stupid enough to let her go. I also didn't like the ending, the betrayal from Larkin wasn't very believable and it was dumb for Lena to cast that spell again that started the mess off in the first place.

Overall this book is okay, it's certainly better than 'The Vampire Diaries & Vampire Academy' but it's not one where I'm desperate to find out what happens next. I would read the next book if it happened to come my way but I'm not going to go looking for it.

Oh dear, I've read the whole series already back in the summer of 2015, but forgot to journal, sorry! I don't remember much about it... but it was perfect escapism and I needed that badly back then. A read-worthy YA with supernatural characters.

Caught this in Finncon right away while releasing some books myself. I should have known it was Mecu who released this, haha.

Worth reading, but I also didn't like this as much as I thought I would. Ethan was a good narrator and he and Lena were both likeable characters, though.

Only on page 103, liking it even though I've never read this genre before. Light reading. Found it in Finland, in a coffee shop, flew to Israel with it. Reading it at home. When I'm done ill release it and maybe edit this entry.
