At Some Disputed Barricade

I continue to love this series. I ordered this fourth volume of the WWI series and didn't realize it was a large print edition, but I have kept it anyway to send on with the previous three to my sister-in-law in Kansas. This particular book also has markings from its previous life as a library book. However, the inside in unmarred and easy enough to read. I do think this was lacking a bit of the intensity of the first three volumes even though it was riveting enough. We seem to be close to the discover of the Peacemaker, but along with Matthew we are confounded in the end. The main story of this tome is the murder? accidental killing? mutiny? of a group of Cambridgeshire soldiers pushed beyond their limits by an ignorant haughty commander whose stupidity is causing unnecessary death and suffering in the ranks... it involves all our major characters: Judith the ambulance driver, Joseph caught in even more moral dilemmas, a taste of what it must have been like in a dogfight in the airs, crossing over into enemy territory, defending what you know to be important. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the final volume, ordered some time ago. I will send the last two volumes off together.
Sending off as part of the entire series to Gullinaarr! Enjoy!
Sent by mail last Monday along with the other four books in the series to Gullinaarr.
Just received this from MmeClinton, am looking forward to reading it!
