Pope Joan (Ballantine Reader's Circle)

Pope Joan was the best book I've ever read. It tells the story of a woman who wants to be different, in the dark middle ages.
It is so interesting for me because there are all these szenes that have happened long time ago and Donna W. Cross made a good research of all these things. It is a story which could have been happening, but nobody knows.
After I read this novel I missed it and the persons in it and I was sad that there is no continuing book. I heard that this book was the number 1 of bestsellers in Germany for 2 Years. That is the right place for this book.
When I first got the book and saw the title picture, I thought by myself "I don't want to read the bible!"
But after I read the first coupple pages I fell in love with it.
