Sea Glass: A Novel

If you enjoyed the Pilot's Wife and Fortune's Rock, you will enjoy this book by Anita Shreve. It is tied in closely to Fortune's Rock, set in the same village and houses only later in time. Therefore, if you read Fortune's Rock, the houses and town take on their own character, bringing you into their story as well as that of the humans in the books. The tale is a sad one, ending not in a way wanted or expected. As I just watched Matrix: revolutions tonight, by now I should be used to being disappointed by endings. But the story is true to the people and the times, even if the rose has left the bloom by the end. Enjoy.
