This one went more into the minds of the different characters than it did into the methodical sleuthing of Poirot. There were few clues to his thoughts on the matter, which left the reader to figure it out on their own.

The setting was a beautiful English manor. The people assembled for the weekend included the elegant hostess, a great London doctor, a brilliant woman artist, a shy scholar, a ravishing film star, a rebellious career girl, and, as added spice to the guest list, the famous Hercule Poirot.
Poirot was prepared to enjoy a delightful holiday until the moment he saw the corpse lying by the bloody water of the swimming pool. Death had struck with sharklike swiftness, and suddenly the great detective-hero was back in totally spellbinding action...
