Now I have started The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, which I approached with little enthusiasm very early this morning, but really and liking alot. I like books which discuss books. The first book stole is "The Grave Digger's Handbook" - not everyone's favourite reading, but the young girl struggles on with it. - the second is from a Nazi bookburning bonfire. The books are:

The Grave Digger's Handbook
The Shoulder Shrug
Mein Kampf
The Whistler
The Word Shaker

None of these really exist (except Mein Kampf), but would be great to write " The Grave Digger's Handbook" and "The Shoulder Shrug" as a stunt when I have a moment! ahhh, but I never have a moment. The later books are books within the book.

This is a truely wonderful book.

Off to Bill B

I found this book at a 2nd hand store and saw the sticker inside the cover. I bought it so it could travel on instead of sitting idly on a shelf. Happy journeys.

How wonderful to see this book resurface. It was particularly notable because it had been with Bill who dies of cancer just a year ago.
