Extremely powerful and often disturbing account of the Irish Civil War as seen through the eyes of one young soldier/assassin. It's hard to like Henry most of the time, or to feel sympathy for his actions, but there's no denying that he's a mesmerizing figure, and I'm really pleased that Doyle continues to tell his story in Oh, Play That Thing and The Dead Republic, which I will be sure to read as well.
